Here I am again with another motivational Monday for you, this week I'm talking about judgment. We all judge people, whether we know a person or not - as the quote goes "never judge a book by its cover" and the same goes for people. I've delved a little into this topic before when I did a post a while ago on comparison, which funnily enough is one of my most read posts.
I've noticed recently when posting photos online that I worry about what others think, I certainly have no control over this but yet it still fills up a lot of my brain space, do they think I'm now well because there's a photo of me at the beach? Do people think I am "faking" my illness because I got out for an hour or so and look like im having a good time (or i don't look sick, sigh!). I've said it before and I'll say it again, you cannot judge someone by their social media sites. Photos are at the end of the day a second of someone's life, we have no idea if there was a huge argument before a photo, someone felt seriously unwell or if it really truly was the happiest moment of their lives. Photos just cannot tell you that.
Still of course we are going to judge someone by it, it's human nature what we see and do is how we interpret life and the basis of how we feel everyday. I've decided I'm not going to worry what people think and make myself feel sad or like I'm doing something wrong, yes I'm unwell but I'm allowed to still have a life. Maybe I can't get out and do things everyday but when I do I'm proud of myself, it's a little achievement and I want to share it with my friends. If you want to post a photo of your ice cream and your on a diet, do it! If you want to post a photo of your abs from working hard at the gym because your super proud of yourself, do it and lastly if you want to post a photo of you out and about when your unwell then go ahead and just do it. As the quote says "do what you feel in your heart to be right - for your be criticised anyway"
We will always be criticised for what we do in life but just remember do what you think is right and whatever makes you happy.
