Tried & Tested | Beauty Edition

Over the last couple of months I've collected a few new beauty items, some of these items are relatively new and you might not of tried them yet. I love reading posts where people tell you if items are "hot or not", its genuinely helpful to know if it's worth spending the money trying out the product.

7th Heaven Creamy Coconut Face Mask £1 - I've always associated these masks with being a teenager as we always used to use them at sleepovers, I had forgotten how good they actually were! You get enough in each packet for 2 applications, which for £1 is pretty decent and my skin felt amazing after using this coconut one, it smelt delicious too!
Barry M Coconut Infusion Nail Polish £4.99 - I'm going to start off by saying I HATE the smell, they don't smell like coconut unfortunately but I didn't expect it would actually. It has an odd herbal smell and it gives me a headache, however I love this colour (Laguna). I also have Flamingo which is a gorgeous coral. They are long lasting too.
Barry M Lets Be Clear Lip Fixer £3.99 - I'm undecided on this, it kind of feels like a pointless product. It's a clear lipliner, you can use it to stop lipstick bleeding like normal coloured ones but I'm not sure it stopped my Mac Girl About Town one from doing so, it is bright pink though so maybe it would work better with nudes.
Barry M Coconut Lip Oil £4.99 - This I do love! I adore coconut scents, they remind me of holidays and summer. It's incredibly nourishing and isn't at all sticky. I like that it's clear and contains actual coconut oil, it leaves your lips super soft and glossy. They do a berry one too which smells like raspberry and pomegranate, it has a slight tint too it aswell.
Benefit Dandelion Shy Beam Highlighter £19.50 - This is one of my favourite Benefit products. I use it constantly and its probably the best highlighter I've ever used. It's matte which is perfect for summer months when you already look slighly shiny. I wrote a blog post on this last month so check that out here to find out a bit more about this amazing product.
St Tropez In Shower Gradual Tan (Sample size £5?) - I'm straight up not a fan of this product, I love fake tan and wear it all year round (not much choice when you look like Casper the ghost otherwise!) but this is just a faff. Who has time to hang around for 3 mintues in the shower before you can wash it back off. Plus it was patchy and I smelt weird. Nope.
Batiste Sweetie Dry Shampoo £2.99 - I think dry shampoo is every girls best friend these day, what did we do before we used it? Have greasy hair all the time? Haha. I've tried all the different scents Batiste sell probably and my favourite is the cherry one but, Sweetie is a lovely sweet (obviously!) scent and I love the packaging, so cute!
Soap And Glory Hocus Focus Softening Illuminator £11 - I bought this with the intention of mixing it with my Estée Lauder Double Wear foundation as it's quite matte and I wanted a nice glow, a more dewy youthful look you might say. I like it but I wouldn't use it on hot days or I would look really shiny, it would be great in the winter months though. Also works nicely as a highlighter on the cheeks but you need to be sparing as its a liquid formula. It definitely gives you a nice healthy glow.
Sleek Matte Me Lipstick £4.99 - I REALLY wanted to love this lipstick as so many people had been raving about these new Sleek Matte Me lipsticks but I didn't. I exfoliated and smothered my lips in balm and after just one coat of the lipstick it cracked and flake. It's very drying too compared to other matte lip products I've used and love (Tanya Burr's & Cailyn lip creams). The colour however was a beautiful pale pink shade and other people seem to love them so maybe still give them a try!

Hopefully this has helped you decide if you might want to try any of these. Do remember these are only my opinions and although I might not have loved something it doesn't mean you won't. I really enjoy writing these posts and would love to know if they are something you like to read too so don't forget to let me know in the comments.

Until Next Time xo

  1. I had an issue with the Sleek Matte Me in Rioja Red recently, it bled out so so quickly even with a lip liner! I looked like The Joker :(
