Take a walk in the forest and smell the wild air

Last week I went on a little trip, a "staycation" if you will. We didn't want to go too far (what with my health but that's a whole different story!) and this place was about 2 hours away by car which was perfect. We have been on a forest holiday before to the same location and loved it so decided it was a good option for a relaxing get away for 4 nights.

We stayed in a Golden oak hideaway of which they only have three on the site, these are a little on the pricey side as they are a "romantic couples cabin" but boy am I glad we choose it!
It was beautiful, cosy and had lots of hidden extras which was cute! Including love heart sweets by the bed, sass and belle biscuit cushions, a chocolate fondue, a waffle maker with a mix, rolos, champagne plus many heart shaped accessories dotted around the place. Those touches make all the difference
I am forgetting one massive plus for me and what made me book the cabin in the first place and that was the bath.
Ahhhhhh it was amazing, gigantic. A two person bath (plus a two person shower and sinks too) they even give you full sized luxury shower gel and bubble bath.

Never have I been so excited to have a bath!

The cabin was just beautiful with everything you could ask for including a nespresso machine. The hot tub was lovely, it's nice to be able to sit outside in the middle of a forest breathing in the fresh air, champagne in hand and unwind. If I went back to forest holidays I would book the hideaway in a heartbeat. Forest holidays are such a great company (I'm not being sponsored haha) we have had no problems with them and they are always friendly! You can even order pizza & ice cream (of which I had the salted caramel one, ahhh yum) from the forest retreat shop via the TV and then 20 minutes laters it's at your cabin. They also sell fresh bread and pastries in the retreat.

There is plenty of wood and forest to walk around in if you want to get out in the fresh air too! We had a little mooch about, plus it was a great excuse to wear my wellies!

There are many Forest holiday locations including Hampshire, Cornwall, Forest of Dean and Sherwood Forest plus so many more! It's not like Centre parcs though and for some people this might be disappointing. They do have some activities such as night walks and archery but Forest holidays are about relaxation and chilling out. Having been to Centre parcs and paying a lot of money for certainly a more basic accommodation PLUS then having to pay for most activities when there I prefer the peace and serenity of Blackwood forest.

Here's a few of more of my pictures. Enjoy. Until next time xoxo
