My Hair Care Essentials

I am one of those people who buy's products and then doesn't use them up before I get bored and will buy something else. I'm like those Americans that stockpile groceries only I do this with hair oils and make up. However, this does mean I have tried a lot of different brands and formulas so I feel pretty confident in the fact I can recommend my favourites to you!

Recently Swedish haircare brand *Maria Nila were recommend to me. My hairdresser raved about it and how the Colour Refresh mask would help keep my locks free of brassy yellow tones whilst
simultaneously making it smooth and shiny. Its packed full of colour pigments that not only remove the brassy tones but completely freshen up the colour. I find it makes my hair a lot brighter and adds a subtle silvery tone. Best of all it doesn't leave your hair purple, even if you forget to wash it out because you've got distracted like I do! You use the mask a lot like the Philip Kingsley Elasticizer (which is also another favourite of mine), you shampoo your hair first and then apply the refresh mask to damp hair, the recommended time to leave it on for is between 3-10 minutes but I always let it sink in for about 20. The silver shampoo and conditioner in the range are the perfect accouplement's to use with the mask, I love the smell of the colour refresh but I'm not so keen on the shampoo and conditioner, I think its meant to be blackberry. The violet pigments in the shampoo are spot on though and really help to neutralise those warm gold tones. You can find the range at Sally's, the mask is £16.99 (but will last you a long time, a little goes a long way) and the shampoo/conditioner starts from £7.99. If you don't have blonde hair fear not, they also sell other colours in the range. All the Maria Nila products are vegan and are sulphate and paraben free!

Another product that was recommend to me by my hairdresser (she's a babe!) was the Wella Colour Fresh Semi - Permanent Colour in the shade light pearl ash blonde. I have a toner applied when my hair is highlighted which makes my hair a gorgeous ash grey, but toners only last a couple of weeks and then fade. The Wella Colour Fresh basically does the exact same thing and tones my hair grey (ish) again! Its perfect to use in-between colours and I get about 4 applications out of one bottle.
Aside from purple shampoo, I have a select few products I use everyday and love, the staples in my collection -

Philip Kingsley Elasticizer £17.50 (75ml) - A pre shampoo mask that's super moisturising. I think most people have heard of the Elasticizer and know how good it is. It helps strengthen and repair damaged hair. My hair definitely looks way better after using it. The one i use is a limited edition elderflower and rhubarb scent that is sadly no longer available, however i did see a coconut breeze scent on their Instagram last month!
Philip Kingsley Daily Damage Defence Spray £9 (60ml) - Basically the best heat protecting spray I've used. It isn't at all sticky and makes my hair feel a lot sleeker when blow-drying. I have fine hair so sometimes products can weigh it down or cause build up but I've had none of that with this lightweight spray.
Percy & Read Wonderbalm £18 (75ml) - I actually received up this mini tube in my M&S advent calendar last year and totally fell in love with it. I use it after my heat spray and just run a pea sized amount through the length of the hair, concentrating on the ends. It helps my hair to feel a little thicker and a whole lot smoother. I ended up buying the full size version last month as i was worried i would run out, turns out i still have loads in the miniature. So the cream will last ages for the price!
Percy & Read Volumising No Oil, Oil £14 (60ml) - Again this came free with a magazine! When it runs out though i would repurchase it. You have to be careful when you have blonde hair to use clear/white oils so they don't stain the hair and this one is perfect. I use it mainly on dry hair to banish frizziness and fly aways. A few drops is all you need aswell.
COLAB Dry Shampoo  £1.73 (200ml) - The best dry shampoo. I recently discovered Colab (Youtuber Ruth Crilly's brand) and realised how much better it was than Batiste. It doesn't leave the white powder residue in your hair and smells bloody delicious. I have to try all the other scents when this one runs out. I also love the packaging, so cute.

What's your favourite hair product?

Until Next Time xo
