Salt Of The Earth | Natural Deodorant

Deodorants not something we put a lot of thought into is it? Until recently I just bought whichever one was on offer in Boots, that was until I read just how many parabens and chemicals were in our favourite brands!

I don't use many natural products if I'm honest, in fact I probably use a lot more chemically made products than I should, I read about how aluminium is in our antiperspirants because it blocks the sweat glands so the sweat cannot pass through, which in turn stops you sweating and creating an odour. However natural deodorants such as the Salt Of The Earth one I've been testing out are made from salt and work by leaving a thin layer of natural mineral salt on the skin. Those mineral salts inhibit the growth of bacteria and keep your underarms smelling fresh. It's also really refreshing under the arms as the product isn't dry or sticky like regular roll on and some sprays.

I was kindly sent the Lavender and Vanilla spray but they also do a unscented roll on too if you are sensitive to fragrance. I absolutely LOVE the smell, it's floral and sweet but not to over the top! I've never seen a lavender scented deodorant before either, there's certainly a niche in the market for it though.

These also leave no white marks and dry super quick which is pretty handy. Nothing worse than white marks on a black top, which coincidently are caused by a chemical in the deodorant! It's not tested on animals and they are made using no animal by products so everyone can use it, also there's no alcohol hidden in there unlike many other beauty and skincare products which makes if suitable for all skin types.

It's quite hard to track down as you won't find it in Boots but you can buy it direct from the Crystal Springs website for £5.99 or your local health food shop. I can only really find one negative, I didn't want to find any as I'm completely sold on the idea of using a natural deodorant now but I did find I had to reapply it half way through the day sometimes which can be a bit of a pain.
I've been using this most days for about 2 months and there's still some left, so although it's £5.99 it seems quite economical. You probably need about 3 sprays under each arm for it to do the job properly, I definitely want to try the unscented deodorant stone next, which is basically a roll on.

Let me know if you've used a natural deodorant before and if there's any beauty products you use that are great natural alternatives.

Until Next Time xo

  1. I've had my eye on this brand for a while and especially now I'm a Vegan, I will be going to Holland and Barrets and stocking up :)

  2. I personally have never used a natural deodorant before, although I probably should. There is an increasing interest in products like this, especially with the growth in veganism and such. You gotta hate the white stuff that some deodorants put on your clothes though, a serious sign that it's not natural!
